When you ask the family what they want for breakfast, usually the answer is a resounding: pancakes! (Especially when it comes to the Drummond kiddos and Ree’s perfect pancakes.) But what if it’s a busy weekday morning, and there’s just no time for the best breakfast foods? Making pancakes can get messy, after all.

Well, thanks to a new TikTok hack, that’s all changing! There’s no whisks to wash and certainly no bowls caked in batter—because all you have to do is prep a bunch of batter (or your favorite mix), freeze it, then throw it into a frying pan to cook! So, if you also believe that no other morning meal stacks up to pancakes, you’re going to want to keep reading to learn how it's done.

The viral hack was posted by TikTok user @dliciouslyinspired and has amassed over one million likes! While she shares her own recipe, you can make your pancakes using any of your favorite recipes like Edna Mae's sour cream pancakes or a store-bought mix.

To start, simply make your mix, then pour the prepared pancake batter into an ice cube tray. For best results, use a silicone tray so that your "pancake cubes" or "batter blocks" pop out easily. You should also keep in mind that small molds will create small pancakes. So, be sure to use a large ice cube tray for bigger flapjacks.

For those of you who want to customize your pancakes (think: chocolate chip pancakes, fruity pancakes, and funfetti pancakes), now is the time to add those mix-ins. Just drop them on top of the batter that's sitting in the ice molds.

Once your molds are all set up, it's time to freeze them! Just place the tray in your freezer until the batter is frozen solid. After that, you can leave the frozen batter in the trays or transfer it to freezer bags or containers for easier storage.

Then, when you want to make pancakes on a busy morning, pop out a few of your frozen cubes and cook them on a skillet. To do this, add butter or oil to a pan, then plop on the frozen cubes. Cook your pancakes covered on medium-low heat for about 1 to 3 minutes per side, depending on the size of your cubes. Be sure to use a lid and gently press down on each pancake to trap heat and help the batter melt evenly. Finally, go ahead and serve.

Ta-da! Now you can have pancakes pronto—with no cleanup necessary. And while the frozen pancakes can last in your freezer for about a month, we doubt they'll make it that long. It's a breakfast no-brainer!
